The importance of History

We are nothing without our past, to quote the Da Vinci Code ‘ understanding the past effectively determines our understanding of the future’.

ah. it’s a beautiful quote, so the past is many a time something which we intend on dusting under the carpet and then only to trample upon it.

But NO, the more we confront and accept our past may it be good or bad, the more we understand the meaning of our life’s purpose.

If we were to talk about events like the holocaust more maybe we could make future generations understand how they must in the future elect representatives for their nation, keeping everybody in mind.

And more than all of this it will help us not to have a lapse of the same events and mistakes which we committed in the past.

Of course on a lighter note. I would say it’s just o fun and thrilling to learn and discover something new each day of our lives. We can never stop learning and we never must. That is why in analysing the past we must also use it as a model or blueprint for the future, and more importantly, what we each as individuals can away from it.

History is beautiful and she deserves the attention of all, great or small.
